Citizens' Police Academy
The purpose of the Citizens' Police Academy is to give the public a working knowledge of the Watertown Police Department’s policies and procedures, through a series of classes instructed by Watertown Police Department personnel.

Cops & Kids
The Cops and Kids after school program began at the Watertown Middle School in 1997, operating through a Byrne Grant administered by the Executive Office of Public Safety.

D.E.C.I.D.E. Program
The Senior population is the fastest growing segment of our society. We recognize the increasing need to educate seniors in crime prevention techniques to help them reduce the chances of becoming the victim of a crime. The D.E.C.I.D.E. Program was designed to meet this need.

File of Life
The File of Life is tool used to convey medical information quickly and accurately. A File of Life card contains a person’s identifying information, medical information, and emergency contact information.

Girls & Goals Program
Formerly the Young Women’s Issues program, the Girls & Goals Program focuses on the current issues facing today’s Middle School female students.

Jail Diversion Program
Jail Diversion is a formal, cooperative approach between police officers and mental health professionals that focuses on creating alternatives to arrest, booking, and jail detention for people whose minor criminal behavior is directly due to mental illness or substance abuse.

The Rape Aggression Defense Basic Personal Defense System is a national program of realistic self-defense tactics and techniques taught for women only.

School Resource Officers
The Watertown Police Department has one officer assigned full time to Watertown High School as resource officer.
