On 2/26/2013 at approximately 2133 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 311-315 Main St building for a fire. There was heavy black smoke coming from the building.   Watertown Fire arrived on scene and began working the fire.  The first box was struck at 2132 hours.  The second alarm was called in at 2137 and a third alarm was called at 2149. WFD was assisted by Belmont FD, Waltham FD, Newton FD, Cambridge FD and Boston FD.

There was extensive fire, smoke, and water damage to the entire building which is considered a total loss.   The building contained the following businesses:

311 Main St. – Pan World Insurance

313 Main St. – Guys Barbershop

315 Main St. – Lony’s Salon

Watertown Officer Mark Leitner, State Trooper James Ackerley and a Boston Firefighter Jim Walsh all working together to open a frozen hydrant.
