Watertown Square – Seek Alternate Route

by: Officer Connors
Posted in: General, Headlines, News, Press Release, Traffic

An Allied Waste garbage truck struck a traffic light pole in Watertown Square this morning at approximately 5:30am.  50 gallons of diseal fuel spilled out of the trucks gas tank onto the street.  Main St was shut down heading west and moving slowly heading east making the morning commute difficult for many. Thanks to the efforts of the first responders and the swift response by Clean Harbors the spill was contained.

The traffic light is in the process of being repaired and Watertown Officers are on scene directing traffic by hand.  In an effort to keep traffic to a minimum we ask that you seek  alternate routes and avoid Watertown Square if possible.
